For travellers visiting Sri Lanka for holiday purposes, including visiting friends, receiving Ayurvedic medical treatment, yoga or visiting relatives, it is required to obtain ETA approval prior to arrival. To avoid any delays, all applicants are encouraged to apply through the ETA system. The ETA is initially valid for 30 days from the date of arrival and allows for double entry. If needed, travellers can apply for a two-month extension beyond the initial 30 days at the Department of Immigration & Emigration in Colombo.

- Duly filled Application for Visit Visa – Form B and Information for Tourist ETA.
- An attested original copy of your bank statement (6 months).

- Passport should be valid for a minimum period of six months from the date of arrival in Sri Lanka with minimum one blank page of the passport.
- Copy of UAE residence visa with a minimum validity of 3-6 months.

- Duly filled Application for Visit Visa – Form B and Information for Tourist ETA.

- A letter addressed to the Ambassador of the Embassy of Sri Lanka, Abu Dhabi by the Company/Organization in UAE requesting visa to the person concerned which include purpose of the visit, designation of the applicant – Business Visa.
- Letter of Invitation by the Sri Lankan Company/Organization to the applicant concerned in UAE or a letter to the Embassy by the Sri Lankan Company/Organization in respect of the visit – Business Visa.
- National Film Corporation (NFC) Application for media that intends to film documentaries/films – Journalist Visa.
- NFC agreement, along with the synopsis of the documentary/feature film, the itinerary of the media team, filming locations in Sri Lanka – Journalist Visa.
- The visa processing time takes 2-3 days.
